Indian Passport Photo Requirements
Four passport size photographs (size 3.5 cm X 3.5 cm with white background)showing frontal view of full face including the one to be pasted on the top of application form. However Indian Consulate at Chicago has recently (Oct 09) started asking for 2x2 inch passport photos.
For Consulate General of India, Chicago, you will need 2x2 inch passport photos:
Photographs:Four recent colour photographs of 2” x 2” against white background showing full frontal view of face are required. Out of these one photograph is to be pasted (do not staple this photo) on the first page of the application in the space provided for the purpose. Photographs with other than white background will not be accepted.Here are samples of Indian Passport Photos:

1. Passport Photo Size: USA requires Passport photos to be around 2 inch x 2 inch which is around 50mm x 50 mm. On the other hand, Indian consulates in the USA require passport photos for Indian Passport application/renewal to be of the size of 35mm vs 35 mm.
