Russian Passport photo- Size, Specifications and Requirements

Russian Passport Photo specs: We see two different specifications.

(If you are of Russian origin, please help us and other people from your country by letting us know the correct format for Russian passport photos. Kindly click on this link and let us know if Specs #1 or Specs #2 mentioned below is accurate. Thanks for your time.)

#1) Most of the resources on the Internet list following requirements for Russian Passport photos. They are similar to the Passport photo specifications for European Union but a bit different. Russian Passport photos require 5 mm space between top of head and the top of the photo.

• Photos should be 3.5cms X 4.5cms
• Head must occupy atounf 70-75% of the total photo
• There should be around 5mm from top of the photo to the top of the head

#2) Some customers from Russian Origin provided us following specs. (Please see this attached PDF for details specs)

 

• The picture size must be 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8" x 1 3/4").
• The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 25 mm and 30 mm.
  Ðàçìåð ãîëîâû îò ïîäáîðîäêà äî âåðõíåé ÷àñòè ïðè÷åñêè (èëè â îòäåëüíûõ ñëó÷àÿõ äî ìàêóøêè) äîëæåí áûòü â ïðåäåëàõ 25-30ìì
• The size of the face must not be less than 20 mm
• The distance from the chin to the photograph bottom line must not be less than 15 mm (3/5")
• The face must be square to the camera with a neutral expression The photographs must show the full front view of the head, which must be close to the top of the frame. The top of the shoulders must be seen in the photo.

IMPORTANT: So unless specifically requested to us by clicking on this form which specs to use, we will use Specs#1 above.

This company is terrific to work with! I highly recommend it! I needed 3.5 x 4.5 cm passport photos and quickly learned that most photo places in the US are not able to produce this size photos with adherence to all passport photo guidelines.
